| Kittikamir Persians is a small cattery located
about 15 minutes west of the Dallas/Ft Worth airport. We specialize in chinchilla and
shaded silver Persians and now we are producing chinchilla and shaded golden
Persians. I have been breeding Persians since 1988 and have always bred to CFA's
Persian standard. All of my kittens are raised underfoot and in my bed to produce a
loving personality. I have a separate room for my boys with large picture windows and many
cat trees. I feel that a loving, healthy environment is very important to the health of my
cats. We have tested our cats for feline leukemia as well as had them scanned for PKD
(polycystic kidney disease). We have now had our cats DNA tested for PKD with UC Davis as
well as with CatGenes of CFA. I have been a member of the Persian breed council for CFA
since 1999. I have also been involved with our breed publication, the United Silver and
Golden Fanciers since 1994 starting as a contributor and then holding various offices
including V-President, President and Editor. Currently, I am again the President of our
publication. I would love to pass the baton to another younger member but being a
volunteer position, there does not seem to be many who want to take the time out of their
busy lives to contribute to our breed publication. We provide a quarterly publication of
show results, health articles, historical data, cattery advertising and just plain good
infomation. Not only do we send this to our members but we send a copy once a year to CFA
judges in order to promote our breed.
I have also been involved with CFA cat shows. I have been a member of Dixieland Silver
and Golden Fanciers since the beginning, 1999 and have helped to put on the last 9 shows.
This is a Specialty cat show which promotes our breed the silver and golden Persian. This
past year (2009) I have been the Show Manager of the Ft Worth Cat Club which is an
Allbreed Cat Club and we put on a yearly CFA cat show each August in the Dallas Ft Worth
area.
I have always loved cats but especially the beautiful silver and golden Persian. It is
a labor of love.
